Dubai Drink Technology Expo is a clever idea to be the first one in addressing this particular industry and registering to the market confidence in U.A.E. In the recent years, soft drinks and liquid food manufacturing industries witnessed remarkable growth. This growth is in line with the manufacturing sector total output, which surged in 2007 to Dh.177 billion up from Dh.125 billion in 2005 registering a sharp increase of 41 percent in just 3 years at annual average rate of 14 percent. It is worth mentioning that the industrial sector contribution to the country’s GDP in the second largest in terms of growth rate in 2007 (19.6%) second only to oil & gas. Manufacturing industries expenditure value in 2007 touched a new height of AED 25.3 billion 17% of the total country’s investments.

In the Expo 2008, I have also noticed the variety of countries participating form different parts of the world. I have seen variety of quality products displayed. All of these issues indicates the success achieve today. I am confident that Dubai Drink Technology Expo will play a significant role in bringing together technology manufacturers, suppliers and importers. Rewarding and new opportunities in soft drinks and liquid food industry will emerge paving the way for forging new business relationships between drink technology owners and manufactures in the UAE and the region at large. This will eventually lead to the development and growth of soft drinks and liquid food industry in the country and the region.
